In case you weren't able to attend the meeting on September 10th, or even if you did, here are two great ways to earn some points this month.
1. Banned Book Week:
Monday, September 23rd through Friday, September 27th, NEHS will be celebrating Banned Book Week everyday in the cafeteria. Celebrate your FREEDOM TO READ! In the cafeteria, a table will be set up with posters about banned week. You can come to the table during your lunch and read anything (except for a textbook and a school study guide) for ten minutes. An officer will be at the table every lunch during this week to write down your name and make sure you participate for ten minutes that day. In order to get 10 points for celebrating Banned Book Week, you must come to the table three days that week for ten minutes each.
2. Punctuation Day:
Since Punctuation Day is September 24th, we will be having a meeting after school at 2:30 in Ms. Powell's Room on September 23rd. At the last meeting, NEHS members made some pretty awesome punctuation signs, so during the meeting on the 23rd, we will be hanging up the posters. Additionally, we will cover up and add punctuation to posters around the school. Sign-in will be at the end of the meeting. If you plan to attend, we need to have a head count, so if you did not sign the sign-up sheet at the September 10th meeting, please email Kara Jones ASAP!
